Implementing Your Giving Page

You have created your Giving Page and now you are ready to put it up on your website. Where do you begin? Right here is a good place to start. This guide will walk you through some simple steps to get your Giving Page up and begin collecting donations online quickly, as well as some best practices to get the most out of your online Giving Page.

Giving Page URL

To get the URL, click on the DonateQ tab and select Giving Pages from the side menu. Click on the “Link” (Page URLs) Action icon next to your Giving Page.

A window will open providing you with two URLs:

  • Giving Page URL
  • Profile Page URL

Use the Giving Page URL wherever you want donors to be able to access your Giving Page (e.g.., “Donate Now” button your website, a link in your Newsletter).

Use the Profile Page URL if you want to provide a dedicated link for your Donors to access their Profile. Donors who create a Profile can view transaction history and easily create new donations, manage contact details, and stored payments.

Online Giving Best Practices

The following tips will help maximize your online Giving Page and make it easy for donors to give from your website.

  1. Have a “Give Now” or similar button right on your home page. When potential donors arrive at your site, chances are they may already be interested in giving, and not having to navigate through a site to find where they can give, minimizes the frustration and maximizes the ease for giving. If a donor has to dig too deep to find a giving link, they may give up and not give at all.
  2. Promote online giving in the written communication you distribute. Letters, Newsletters, E-newsletters, Giving Statements, Bulletins, Bulletin Boards, and Social Media, are all great places to highlight online giving, and informing potential donors how e-giving makes life easier for you and them. Don’t forget to include a link to your Giving Page or website homepage (where they can quickly get to your giving page).
