How do I add a Category?

Categories and Subcategories allow your donors to designate their donation to a particular fund.  This post will walk you through how to create Categories and Subcategories and ensure they are included your Giving Page(s).

 

To Add a New Category:

  • Click “Admin” at the top of the Qsuite
  • In the “Categories” section click “Add a Category”

  • Enter the name of your new Category
  • “GL Code” is an optional field if you are working with General Ledger Numbers and want to take advantage of this for reporting purposes.

Your new Category will now show in the “Active Category” list:

Adding a Subcategory:

  • Click the pencil icon next to the Category where you want to add a Subcategory

Add-SubCat

  • Click on [+ Add Subcategory] to give your new Subcategory a name and click [Add] to save your entry
  • Continue to click [+ Add Subcategory] and enter as many Subcategories as needed. When done click on [Update] by Category Name to save your changes.

 

Adding your Category or Subcategory to your Giving Page:

The final step is to include this new Category and/or Subcategory to your Giving Page.

  • Click on the DonateQ tab located under the Qsuite logo
  • Click on “Giving Pages”

GivingPage

 

  • This will pull up a list of your Active Giving Pages
  • Click the pencil icon next to your Giving Page that you want to include your new Category and/or Subcategory
  • You are now in the Design tool for your Giving Page
  • Click on “Edit” next to “Categories” in the “Page Content” box in the center of the screen

 

  • Next, click the “Selection” tab to view your list of Active Categories and Subcategories
  • Select any and all Categories and Subcategories you want included on this Giving Page
  • Click [Apply] to save your changes
  • Be sure you click [Save] to save these change to your Giving Page
